Many of them enjoy traveling by air to save on time, while others rather drive to avoid paying for expensive flights.
We all have our own preferences. But sometimes we omit certain elements that doesn’t let us see the entire picture.
While you are still debating (driving vs flying), let us give you 5 reasons why driving is the best choice for you.
Again, your preferences may be strong enough to quickly make up your mind. But we may be able to help you see the forest for the trees.
Driving is budget-friendly
This best applies when you want to arrange a trip with more than one person. A father with his wife and three kids can cut on trip costs by opting for hitting the roads.
Flight fares increases significantly when arranging trips during busy seasons, such as the summer season or Christmas holiday season.
You could end up paying over a thousand of dollars for a trip to New York from Florida if traveling by air. On the other hand, the same trip by car may only cost you less than $400 depending on the season.
The drive is part of the fun
Your vacation doesn’t need to start once you reach your destination. That’s not fun. The drive is also part of the experience.
Arranging a road trip that brings people together while sharing memories is priceless.
When you arrange a trip by car, you can arrange multiple stops and enjoy the different attractions, scenery, or landmarks which add more fuel to the adventure.
Air travelers, unfortunately, cannot relish such privilege. They must remain seated and get to their destination with limited things to focus on.
Traveling by air is such a hustle
From the time you book your flight, you need to keep track of your flight details. Some flights even include waking up at 5 AM for a flight that can be delayed or cancelled.
What if you don’t wake up on time? Many times, airlines offer limited seating choices and the long lines to check in makes things even more stressful.
Of course, traveling by air is quicker but take into consideration all the bookings you need to go through to be there including pick-up services, group/family reservations, and/or rental cars.
What about the flying nuisances?
After checking your bags and printing your flight ticket, you will then need to go through long security.
Unless you have a fast-tracking TSA pre-check access, you will be facing x-rays screening and other searches which is also time consuming.
Similarly, uncomfortable seats, crying babies, rude passengers, germs, just to name a few, are part of the nuisance.
If you opt for driving, you can experience more comfort and be closer to the people you want to be with.
The food isn’t always better up in the sky
Unless you are first-class world traveler on a trip from Florida to London, airplane food is limited and not the best choice for starters.
Flying on economy is even more painful. You are subjected to reduced choices if you are lucky enough to get decent menu options.
Otherwise you’ll have to pay for food items that are simply “meh!” As opposed to driving, where people can buy great snacks and store food in containers for later consumption.
Now, it’s your turn. What do you prefer, driving or flying? Feel free to let us know in the comments below.
