Online Driver’s License Renewal

Nebraska has recently expanded their online renewal systems and many times you will be eligible for this time-saving option.

There are a few reasons that you might be required to renew in person, but most drivers will be able to simply renew through the Nebraska DMV online license renewal website.

In order to renew online you will need:

• Valid email address and telephone number.
• Checking account or credit card including Mastercard, VISA, or Discover Card.
• Any change of address documentation and the ability to upload the form.

It can take up to 20 days to receive your new license by mail, so if you are approaching your expiration date, this would not be a recommended or available option.

If you need to update your photo or physical description due to a change in height, weight, and eye color, then you will need to do it in person.

When Does My Nebraska Driver’s License Expire?

Except for those issued prior to your 21st birthday, all driver’s licenses are valid for 5 years and expire on your birthday.
